The wise and the cow - New version of fable

<The Wise Wife and The Cow>

Once upon a time, there was a very idle and lazy man who lived with wise wife. His wife asked him to work in the field, but he rejected her asking. His wife went to the market and met an old man who sold a cow mask which made people into a cow at the market. She bought the cow mask and gave him this mask. When he wore the cow mask on his face, he turned into a cow! The cow had to work so hard every day and had difficulty in hard working. He regretted his past faults and decided to live life to the full if he changed back into a man.

One day, she went to the market with the cow. She met the old man and asked to remove the cow mask. The old man came up to him and removed the cow mask. Suddenly, he changed back into a man. After that, he studied very hard and his wife supported him as far as she could. As a result, he became a secret royal inspector. After that, he arrested badly-behaved people and put the cow mask on them.

Moral : The men have to get married wise wife.

The old man said that this mask helped men who didn't want to work. When the farmer put the mask on his face he turned into a cow! The old man sold the cow. The cow had to work so hard and he was so lonely for his family that he wished he was dead. Suddenly, he changed back into a man. He rushed home and kissed his wife and children. From that day on, he was a good worker and he never saw the old man in the market again.

Compare an educational institution of today with an educational institution of the past

Compare an educational institution of today with an educational institution of the past. An educational institution of today is called 'school', and an educational institution of the past is called 'Hyanggyo' which is the Confucian temple and school to teach local students in the Joseon Dynasty period.

Each institution differs in some respects. First, School is the big size building. There are various rooms such as science room, music room, gym, etc. But Hyanggyo is the small size building because there is one room. Next, the teacher in school teaches in a standing posture, and teaches interesting subjects. But the teacher in Hyanggyo teaches in a sitting posture, and teaches the Thousand-Character Classic that is very boring. Finally, the teacher in Hyanggyo is very strict. When the students didn't do assignments, the strict teacher gives students the long cane on the calves.

An educational institution of toady and the past are different in some respects. But, there is a common of each an educational institution. It is that the students studied very hard.

The World's Greatest Invention - 'Hangul'

On October 9th, it was 'Hangul's anniversary. 'Hangul' is the Korean alphabet. It was King Sejong that invented 'Hangul'. Thank to him, many Korean people use the hangul letters to read and write every day.

I think that 'Hangul' is the greatest invention. Many scientists said that 'Hangul' is the most scientific letter system in the world because it expresses all of its sounds perfectly. 'Hangul' consists of 14 consonants and 10 vowels. If you know 24 letters, you can express all that you want to say. How surprising the Korean alphabet system is!

Another reason is that 'Hangul' is easy to read and write. King Sejong invented 'Hangul' for the people who didn't know any letter system. King Sejong thought that anyone, including women, should know how to read and write with these letters. So King Sejong made 'Hangul' so that it would be easy to learn. After that, everyone was able to easily read books and write letters.

Recently, the Jjia-Jjia tribe, which is  an Indonesian minority race, selected 'Hangul' as their official letter system. I hope that many nations that don't have a letter system for their language select 'Hangul' as their official letter system.

I added a few link for learning hangul. http://www.indiana.edu/~koreanrs/hangul.html

Who is your HERO?

My favorite soccer player in Korea is Ji-sung Park. He was a hero during the 2002 Korea/Japan World Cup. He scored an important goal during the game versus Portugal in the Group D world cup match. His goal led to the South Korea victory, so the team went to quarter finals for the first time.

After the 2002 World Cup, Ji-sung Park became the first Korean to play in Premier League playing for Manchester United in England. Many Korean people are proud of him because he belongs to the most famous football club in the world.

His nick name is 'two hearts' because he runs a lot, so I hope to continuouly watch his energetic plays.
